DIY Candles

Over the holiday weekend my mom and I made these candles with the help of a couple of my nieces and nephews.

We brushed Modge-Podge (you could also used watered down white glue) on a glass container and rolled it in Epsom salt. Once it is dry you can place on a decorative plate with decorations, glass beads, etc.

Hobby Lobby had the glass containers, plates and decorations half price over the weekend, so they may still be on sale. Also, all of the Christmas decorations and décor was half off.

There are many uses for mason jars besides canning. They can be used for decorating and for giving gifts.

Some examples of jar as decorating are as Floating candles, and lanterns or treat jars. They can be painted and decorated for Halloween containers. This is another example to use for Halloween or you could spell “Joy” and use for Christmas.

Mason jars can also work good for Homemade gifts and other recipes.

Some places to look for mason jars are garage sales and thrift stores. You can also use empty jars such as spaghetti sauce, mayonnaise and other jars you may have at home.
