I was looking for a recipe to use some blueberries I had in the freezer and came upon tis recipe for Blueberry coffee cake. I left out the almond extract and substituted walnuts for almonds, Also, for the buttermilk, I added a tablespoon of lemon juice to regular milk. I have used this for years in baking recipes that call for buttermilk. Some people say you can either add lemon juice or white vinegar to milk to substitute for buttermilk.

It was easy to make and tasted great.
