I saw a recipe today for Homemade Cereal Bars. The recipe calls for honey nut cereal but you can use almost any kind of cereal. I used Special K with strawberries since that was what I had one hand. I also used walnuts instead of pecans. Since the cereal had fruit in it, I omitted the raisins in the recipe and added a little more cereal than the recipe calls for.

They only take a few minutes to put together and taste great. They can also be frozen if you want to make a larger batch or a variety of flavors.

The recipe doesn’t say what size pan to use, but probably about a 8 inch square pan or something similar. I used a 9×12 and it filled about 3/4 of the pan.

I have started making many items like this at home, since I don’t care for the taste of the preservatives in the store bought items. Also, you know what ingredients are in them and can differ ingredients to match your tastes.
