Two of the blogs I follow regularly are LifeAsMom and GoodCheapEats, both written by Jessica Fisher. In October she posted each day about 31 Ways to Save Money in the Kitchen and 31 Days of DIY Convenience Foods.

Cooking and eating at home is a great way to save money and know what ingredients are in your meals. Even if you think you are too busy to cook at home, there may be ways to make it possible.

By making your own convenience foods, you save money and you can also regulate the ingredients. I have started making a number of foods instead of purchasing them already made.

Jessica has authored a book on freezer cooking and has another cookbook coming out next year on Best 100 Juices for Kids.
