Thrift stores are a great place to find books at reasonable prices. As with other things, you will not know what you will find. Keep a list of authors or books you are interested in with you so you have an idea of what you are looking for when you are shopping.
On a recent stop at a thrift store I found these three books by David Bach. the books were $1 and $2 instead of the $15 to $25 they regularly are. They are The Automatic Millionaire, Smart Couples Finish Rich and Start Rich Finish Rich. Another of his books is Smart Women Finish Rich. Any of his books are great resources for getting out of debt and saving your money.
One of his main concepts is making your saving automatic so it is less likely you will skip a month. He also uses the term “latte factor” to talk about small expenses that add up quickly. Besides coffee, it can also apply to bottled water, magazines and other small expenses that add up to a significant amount of money over time.
On another trip I purchased some books for one of my nephews who is learning to read. I got 7 books for less than the regular price of one book.
