Productions of The Orphan Train are being presented by members of the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre at Bonanzaville in West Fargo Saturday mornings July 13-August 17 at 11:00.

It is based on the Orphan Train Movement in which orphaned, abandoned or homeless children from crowded cities such as New York and Boston were transported to other parts of the country. The orphan trains ran between 1853 and 1929, relocating an estimated 250,000 orphaned, abandoned, or homeless children.

The production is included in the admission fee to Bonanzaville. I recently saw it and it was very good. There was a family in front of me with two younger children and they seemed to enjoy it also. It is about an hour long.

Pioneer Days will be held at Bonanzaville August 16 – 18 with additional activities and demonstrations.
