As part of America Saves Week today I am hosting a giveaway of a copy of the book, Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees, A Parent’s Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children. It is one of the books I have found that gives ideas and information about teaching kids about money. The author, Neale S. Godfrey has also written a book for teens, Money Still Doesn’t Grow on Trees.

Check back each day thru Sunday, February 26 for more giveaways.

To enter the drawing leave a comment with your email thru midnight today. I will contact the winner to get their mailing address.

I would love to read about ways to teach my kids how to appreciate money in their lives! Christiana

  2. I have read the reviews of this book on an internet website and think it would be a good tool to have as both a teacher and a parent. I am a social studies teacher (not teaching right now, I am working on a Masters) and think that social studies is more than history and geography. Students need to know things such as managing money which are not really taught in the general curriculum. Social Studies began as a way to teach students of immigrant parents how to survive in the American culture which gave way to only focusing on academic course work, eliminating the “survival” aspect. I would like to incorporate bits and pieces of the “survival” techniques into my teaching and feel this book would be a good tool.

I am also a parent and would like the book in teaching my child about money. I am afraid that without resources such as this, I may not provide her with the things she will need in her future.
