Besides being Valentines Day, Tuesday, February 14 is also Giving Hearts Day. Giving Hearts Day is an online fundraising program that is made possible through a partnership between Impact, Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), nonprofits trained through the Impact Institute and other community donors.

All donations of $10 or more made to select nonprofit organizations online at Impact Giveback are matched (up to $4,000) by DMF and other community donors.

So if you were considering donating to one or more of these organizations, this is an easy way to double your donations. Remember it is only valid for donations made online on February 14.

Another way I use to donate to organizations is to purchase items with coupons, on sale or through deals at CVS and Walgreens. With the Extra Care Buck and Register Reward programs I can get many things for free or for very little.

A couple months ago, two of the local grocery stores had coupon mailers with 4 coupons good for various items for each week for a total of 8 weeks. With the coupons certain items were about half of the sale prices of the items. The last couple of weeks there were a few items I was not interested in but I purchased the items and put on the shelf at the store to be donated to the food pantry. It did not cost me much more than a dollar for each of the items but it was over half price of what they would have paid for the same items
