America Saves Week is recognized February 19-26, 2012. As part of this, on the website they give ideas of things to do throughout the month to get your financial life in order.

Studies show that 42% of workers admit to guessing for their retirement savings goal. It may be difficult to start saving for retirement when you are young and have several years until you will withdraw the money. But the earlier you start saving, the less you will need to save since it has more time to grow.

If you are older and have not saved it is not too late. Even by saving some is better than saving nothing at all. One book about this is Start Late, Finish Rich by David Bach.

Some people do not invest in their companies retirement plans because they are not sure how to do it. If you have questions, check with your HR department.
