Using the crockpot is both a money saving and time saving way to cook. It is nice to come home after a busy day and smell supper ready. It’s money saving because it saves you from the possibility of going out to eat or bringing home take out if you don’t have time or don’t feel like cooking. Also, some cuts of meat, you can use a cheaper cut of meat and it gets tender from cooking all day. Some of the newer crockpots have timers that you can set if you don’t want it to be cooking all day. Although most recipes take most of the day to cook. Many times you can mix all or most of the ingredients together the night before in the crockpot and just put it on in the morning before you leave. Another advantage is that it does not heat up the house so it is also good to use in the warmer months without heating up the house by using the stove.

Also, if you are single you can still cook a normal batch this way and freeze the extras for later meals.

There are many cookbooks available for crockpot recipes and also many websites. A couple of the websites are Crockpot 365 and 365 Days of Crockpot. The authors of both websites also have cookbooks.
