For the past week, I have been writing about the steps to take to get your financial life in shape.
Step 10 is to set your priorities.
One of the first steps is to create a list of wants and needs to help you establish your financial priorities. Some things may be more important to you than they are to another person. You may need to change other areas in your spending to support other things that are important to you.
When making your list of wants and needs, consider if it really a need. When considering needs, you may be able to purchase a less expensive option. But if it is something that you are going to use a lot, it may make sense to spend the money for a more expensive option that will last longer than having to replace the cheaper one more often.
